Yayoi Kusama is a Japanese artist working primarily in sculpture and installation but is also a driving force in painting performance video art fashion poetry and fiction. Her Infiniti net series (comprising of dots on a monochromatic background) paved the way for minimalism in the 1950s and the dots have become a recurring theme in her art.
